MEET OUR FOUNDER DR ADIB AL ALAWY

GDC NUMBER 76672

I’m Dr. Alawy, and I’ve been proudly serving patients in London for over 25 years. Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed countless patients traveling abroad for dental treatments, only to return with poor results such as over-shaved teeth, low-quality veneers, crowns, and substandard materials. To address this growing issue, I founded FixMySmile, the UK’s most affordable dental clinic. At FixMySmile, we provide high-quality, safe, and reliable treatments at prices that are even more affordable than many overseas clinics, ensuring patients don’t have to compromise their dental health for cost.

COMPOSITE BONDING VS COMPOSITE EDGE BONDING

Composite bonding (sometimes referred to as composite veneers) and composite edge bonding are similar but serve different purposes. Composite bonding involves applying resin to repair or reshape teeth, addressing issues like gaps, chips, or discoloration across the entire surface. Composite edge bonding, on the other hand, focuses specifically on the edges of the teeth, typically to enhance their shape or repair minor damage. Both techniques are minimally invasive, affordable, and deliver natural-looking results, but the choice depends on the extent of the correction needed.

COMPOSITE BONDING JOURNEY

FREE CONSULTATION

3D scan and x-rays (if needed) are taken. We will discuss what you want to change about your teeth, the process and make sure the treatment is suitable for your teeth.

PLAN

Together with your dentist, you will discuss and design your composite bonding size, shape, length and colour.

TREATMENT

We will apply the dental bonding material to your teeth, which is moulded on to your teeth to improve the shape, colour and size of your teeth and hide imperfections such as cracks, UV light is then used to harden the resin and finally your dentist will polish the resin to a smooth finish.

FAQ

Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure in which a tooth-coloured resin material (composite) is applied to the teeth and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to improve the overall appearance.

Composite bonding is generally painless, without the need for needles and anaesthesia.
Composite bonding can correct various dental issues, including; Chipped or cracked teeth, discoloured teeth, gaps between teeth, misshapen teeth and short teeth.
The procedure typically takes between 30 minutes to an hour per tooth. Multiple teeth take even less time and can often be bonded in a single visit.
Composite bonding can last 5 years or more, depending on the location of the bonding, your oral habits, and how well you maintain your oral hygiene.

Yes, the bonding material can stain over time, especially if you consume foods and beverages that stain teeth (e.g., coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco). Good oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings can help minimise staining.
Composite bonding involves applying and shaping a resin directly onto the tooth, while veneers are custom-made shells in a dental lab that cover the front surface of the teeth. Veneers are generally more durable and stain-resistant than composite bonding, but are more expensive.
